Hamians 29- Long Eaton 7

Sunshine , little wind down at the Point hamians declared their intent that promotion would not dappen their cavalier approach to the game

Skipper Leavey had made some bold selections in order that his game plans would be followed .

The jumble of calls , winks hand movements at times resembled a duracell rabbit on speed but what the heck if it keeps him happy .

The game kicked off with Yorkie again chasin hard , and immediately the long eaton pack tried to bully their way down the park . Crash ball inside centre moves to allow their pack to rumble down the park were snuffed out a source with organised fringe defence

The first lineout hamians proved that repetative train counts with ice dominating at 4 , despite calls for quick ball the hamians 8 kept in tight with quick drives , punching short holes and keeping their back row occupied .

Suddenly the ball is flung wide right and good hands releases Chicago who with Epsy outside gets pulled down 5 metres short .

Hamians conceed ruck infringement

Dave pinches lineout , lamin punches up middle ...oh no its a dummy , a rotation of the ball and he's away, lateral pass puts yorkie in ....ref says forward

Hamians pressure scrum , the weight and girth of the anvil togehter with fat prop and puddin mean hamians have an excess of 55 stone front three.

Lineout ice again dominate , again hamians overcomplicate and knock on , penalty conceeded

Long Eaton pin it back with kick , good pressure at lineout , long eaton still roll forward. Second row carries off with busted shoulder , several long eaton fowards blowin hard yet all they have down is 3/4 phases of play .
Hamians fringe defenceand summer power work is taking toll on log eaton forwards

Lineout on 10 yd line , set move anviltakes it contact bwling over three defenders followed by quick ruck ball. Good hands releases Chicage who dances down touchline combining well with Epsy to score out wide

Jonny Pekins catches kick off and falls backwards into touch

Long Eaton press in hamians 22 for period of play , series of scrummages and static mauls are food and drink to the skelton frame of jez davies who is dominate forraging on the scraps and dogfights of such exchanges
A penalty is won , lamin howitzer boot gains good field position , seiriies of hamians specialist short line outs giving the backs good ball with variety of attacks from the direct approach to the 40 metre miss pass . Long Eaton organised in defence and scramble away . wild punt out of defence Epsy coverin the full back position collects and sets off on strong arching run and brakes defence to release lamin for run in out pacing defece and scoots round under posts

Puddin catches kick off !!!

Hamins punch up pitch , rucking out ball and interpassing up the pitch , long eaton defence sound and scamble to touch

line out ball spun wide and again final pass just fails , but hamians recycling ball but a little frantic

Line out ball and set and drive , allows series of drives to 5 yds from line , Scrummage right , hobbit picks up and drives , ruck bal jez , matt , puddin , jon p all drive around fringes
.Ruck goes left matt pops ball right to puddin and with phil dartley outside and an unopposed runin in front of his wife unborn child and parents , puddin blasts over tacking two helpless defenders with him , but in fortunatley repeats an earlyier offence and drops the ball over the line

the hamians pack dertermined to make up for their packleaders deficiences maintain the pressure ,

The driving and rucking are ginin good ball , again held up short and fat prop handslapped when at scrum half . Resultant scrummage hamians secondary shove pinches ball and with long eaton pack in disarray simple hands allows leavey to score

second half pud catches second kick off , ignores set move and sets of on barnstormin run at long eaton fly half burstin tackles, ball rucked out after he falls over , quick pop ball left with hobbit , phil and ice involved , scramble defence hilts move but ball again recycled and over lap left squandered.

Long Eaton blowin up front , good scrummage ball lamin held up short , punt clears line , yorkie scoots back hits up hard quick ball spun right and penalty won as ball killed .

hamians pinch lineout , lamin kicks long for position

fat prop and draps substituted for mozza and gollum

game meanders a bit as long eaton gain possession of the football

from scrum ice breaks early despite hamions drive , scrum half scoots off out paces ice on the arch , steps the full back to score

Long eaton enjoy line out moves and peels until large prop is tackled by ice and hobbit with trademark double assit flattens bloke to floor

Godd scrummage keeps pressure on although discliline conceeds half a dozen needless penalties allowing pressure to be released.

Good interlinking allows hobbit to blast over for second
on last move of game of note good rucks and hands releases epsy who despite 58 yd run is hauled up , the paece of the support means the ruck bal is won , long eaton kill and penalty awarded . then reversed

the reason we are told gollum was being held on the floor and is head being stuffed into the turf , yorkie or some say dave took offence and piled in .....any decent mate of goolum would have relised after dwarfs and trolls a bit of grass in the gob does not matter and we would rather have had the ball

29 - 7 win will do but the positives of the number of opportunities created must be tempered with the conversion only of 5 tries

Defeces at this level are more determined and organised and in a tight match this must improve .

The new players performed well and any fears doubters had that the hamians pack was too lightweight appear unfounded with this forward dominated victory

next week sees hamians away at casuals at canalside beeston , and we know they are still pissed off when in last years 3 counties cup run they suffered the indignity of a home defeat to us ...more of the same is planned for saturday
