Long Eaton 8 - Hamians 29

As everything else was slow and confused on saturday I thought I would join the club .

The only shock on saturday was that the duel at the top of our league was won by our friends from Bakewell away at Boston although from reading the two match report the reasons how and why were under some dispute .

We played Long Eaton . another local derby for us , and we went with hopes of completing the double over them .

Confusion , roadworks , late arrivals meant we took the field late . 3pm agreed yet we kicked off at 2.45

we think we annoyed the match offical

hamians had numerous changes , with internationals , mothers day weekend etc

We played into the wind ( force 10 gale straight down the pitch ) received kickoff.

Dainty catches ignores easy pass , contact ball lost , strip it back

comedy starts , three times win ball and pass misses stand off , full back recovers ball after going back 30 yds .

Drives forward , ruck out , penalty

hands in , no not realeasing as ref explains longeaton skipper takes kick runs around ref and crashes over

5 nil

Hamians berated by drapper

Next 10 minutes hamians take control of game in midfield

Ref very keen on lack of any advantage

as result 10 scrums later , hamians manage to flow left and lamin ghosts chicago away .

Overlap ignored and another scrummage

Ball WON AND 15 OR SO PHASES LATER CHICAGO IGNORES 4 MAN OVERLAP TO DRIVE TWO MEN INTO POST AND TRY

7-5

dAVE AND COOKIE in control of lineouts 6 all half , the wind did not blow sideways !!! Passing difficult and Long Eaton blitz defence against slow ball

THEY KICK PENALTY

Hamians warned against rucking bodies , yet slowing and killing ball evident ....answer blow up early if ball on ground

result 23 scrums in 1st half

Lamin realeases CHICAGO TO SCORE SECOND

14-8

best moment , scrum against head , move goes left , left anf left again , swift hands gives stickie ( 6ft 6 bronzed gazelle ) a 27 metre run in including gasing both winger and startled full back

19 -5

Half time

Lamin kick off attempt Coco the clown ...the refs patience is being tested

Second half only 16 scrums

They do not get out half except for kick offs

Penalties for infringements allow pressure to be realaised

Chicago gains hat trick ...hamstring problems ...leaves park and probably the rest of season

Lamin using wind to gain ground , disrupt line out , solid scrum ball hits up right and coops subbing on wing crashes over

Fat Prop leaves park with two legs like zepplins and another visit to tropical deasises dept at Queens Medical Centre to resolve infections . Big Rich IMPACT for next 20 minutes

29-8

Couple of sweeping moves down pitch , show excellent hanling in wind

Long eaton tired and coops twice in space and lack of decesion making fails to take opportunity

Game ends some 10 mins early ...''you had won , they were tired and i want to watch the international '

No one complained as all elbows and knees were bloodied on the hard pitch and the two points needed to secure third spot obtained .

STOP PRESS

the table showes we have had 2 points deducted .reason is fielding a player who was registered elsewhere whislt we are registering him .

A simple accident but with an accountant and solictor in charge of registration and match cards honesty and integrity has caught us out . Prick of the year it is worth a nomination , luckily it is not decisive

Pitch inspection is programmed this week as we entertain cup favorites Boston in the NLD semi final this weekend . 2 .30 KICK OFF

It is hoped after 4 weeks of no activity the Trent will have subsided to allow us to remark the pitch out .Notice will be posted later in week

Has Rob Thornton got his dogs avaliable to remove the geese as after 4 weeks we have on average 400 a day grazing .

Can all those who did not train inform Mike of avaliabilty for this weekend .

Rumour has it spanish tour details are finally avaliable and will be published b4 the weekend . Olay !!
